Will Wayne Rooney leave Everton for Major League Soccer (MLS) side DC United? Yesterday most of the media reported that he had “agreed in principle” on a £12m move to the US club. But while a deal is close, The Washington Post says the transfer is still “50-50”. The Daily Mirror reports that Rooney could snub a move to MLS if Sam Allardyce leaves as Everton boss. The Toffees “face a choice between [the] ex-England star and manager”, the Mirror says.
Top six clubs target Jorginho
Napoli and Italy midfielder Jorginho is wanted by all the Premier League’s top-six clubs. Valued at £52.9m, Manchester City are favourites to sign the 26-year-old ahead of Manchester United, Tottenham, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal. (The Times)
